Transforming Riverside Market: The Art of Polished Plaster

Take a look at one of our favourite projects at Riverside Market. We had the pleasure of working on Pedros, a lively Spanish eatery. Although Pedros has since closed its doors, the new owners have preserved our vibrant finishes and bar, allowing the space to continue captivating visitors with its unique charm.

When Pedros decided to refresh their interior, they wanted something that reflected the rich and warm essence of Spanish culture and stood out in Riverside’s busy environment. That's where our red polished plaster split stone finish came in. This technique, with its unique texture and depth, was perfect for capturing the lively and passionate spirit of Spain. The red polished plaster created a striking backdrop that drew patrons in, evoking the warmth and vibrancy of Spanish streets. The split stone finish added a touch of rustic charm, mimicking traditional Spanish stone walls. We applied this finish in a single layer and then glazed it for a bold, eye-catching look.

To balance the boldness of the red walls, we added a complementary yellow wall. This wasn’t just about aesthetics; it created a cohesive and inviting space reflecting the colourful and diverse nature of Spanish culture. The yellow hue brought a cheerful brightness, making the atmosphere warm and welcoming.

This project was a true team effort. We worked closely with the builder, Simon Campbell Construction to ensure every detail was meticulously planned and executed. A special highlight was the stunning logo crafted by Identity Signs. Placed over one of the red polished plaster walls, the logo not only stood out but also tied the whole design together.
